Since bursting on to the international music scene in 2005, glamorous singer-songwriter NICOLE SCHERZINGER – the former front-woman of the global chart topping girl-band The Pussycat Dolls (a band which sold around 40 million+ singles worldwide) – will be making her Isle of MTV debut this summer, performing new tracks from her up and coming album album – to be released in October - including her forthcoming hot new single Your Love.
The stunning pop sensation and fashion icon - whose hits including ‘Poison’, ‘Don’t Hold Your Breath’, ‘Right There’, ‘Wet’ and ‘Try With Me’from her 2011 top selling album ‘Killer Love’ – has previously worked with some of the industry’s biggest names with smash hit collaborations including ‘Baby Love’ (featuring Will.i.am), ‘Right There’ (featuring 50 Cent), ‘Jai Ho!’ (You Are My Destiny) featuring The Pussycat Dolls, ‘Scream’ (featuring Timbaland and Keri Hilson) and ‘Heartbeat’ (featuring Enrique Iglesias).
This will be the eighth consecutive year that MTV has produced its biggest outdoor live music event in partnership with Malta Tourism Authority. An unprecedented number of music fans will descend on the island on Wednesday 25th June 2014 for one of the must-attend highlights of the summer music calendar.
Isle of MTV has a reputation for showcasing some of the biggest names from the international music scene. Previous performers have included Lady Gaga, Black Eyed Peas, N*E*R*D, One Republic, Maroon 5, Akon, Kid Rock, David Guetta, Metro Station, Snoop Dogg, LMFAO, Jesse J, will.i.am and Rita Ora amongst others.
The open-air concert features live performances, which will be filmed and edited into a 60-minute special that will broadcast across 20 MTV channels throughout Europe. As part of an extensive integrated marketing campaign, the Isle of MTV Malta Special concert will be supported by marketing initiatives, all of which will drive awareness of the event as well as leverage MTV’s world renowned brand and unique youth insight, to further cement and promote Malta’s position as a holiday destination for young people. Over the eight years that Isle of MTV has been held in Malta, research indicates the number of visitors to the island under the age of 24 has increased by 88 percent and the age group now accounts for 1 in 5 of all tourists.
